Why this market

Singapore is poised to become the leading sustainability innovation hub in the ASEAN region. As a small, low-lying island nation with limited access to low-carbon energy resources, Singapore is forging the path to a sustainable future and actively pursuing innovative solutions at scale to help organisations meet their climate goals. The Singapore Government provides incentives and support to enable companies to adopt low-carbon technologies and practices towards a net-zero future.

Singapore has developed close bilateral relationships with international markets to launch new sustainability initiatives. For example, the Singapore-Australia Green Economy Agreement (GEA)External Link, established in 2022, lays the foundation for greater collaboration to drive growth while reducing emissions. This only builds on Australia’s substantial bilateral relationship with Singapore and existing areas of cooperation, such as the Singapore-Australia Free Trade AgreementExternal Link.

This context provide significant opportunity for NSW net-zero and clean technology companies to assist Singapore and the broader ASEAN region with its transition needs.

With its supportive and innovative policy and financing environment, NSW companies can use Singapore as a springboard for their cleantech ventures, accessing a vibrant ecosystem of 7,000 multinational companies, 4,000 startups, 200 venture capital firms, and over 200 accelerators, many of which are increasingly focused on cleantech and sustainability.
