A fine opportunity for NSW food and beverage manufacturers

Investment NSW CEO Katie Knight said the NSW Government would offer subsidies of $4,500 to support up to 12 of the state’s premium and niche food and beverage manufacturers to exhibit within the Flavours of NSW zone at the 2023 event, to be held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney from 11-14 September.

“NSW is home to so many world-class food and beverage manufacturers and this event is a chance to showcase what some of our most promising companies have to offer,” Ms Knight said.

“The subsidies will help these companies expand their exposure and unlock new opportunities to grow domestically and in new international markets.  

“I am pleased to see the event return to Sydney this September for the first time since 2019 and strongly encourage businesses from across NSW to apply.”  

Successful applicants will be selected based on criteria including:  

• Product uniqueness, niche characteristics and alignment with global trends
• Demonstrated growth and export potential
• Capacity to supply commercial volume
• Demonstrated marketing potential.

NSW South Coast business Cooks Confectionery, makers of the Scorched Peanut Bar, reported a growth of $500,000 in sales after receiving a subsidy to attend last year’s event. 

Cooks Confectionary Managing Director Ruben Lezcano said the business was also able to employ eight new full-time staff members. 

“We really appreciate the help from the NSW Government staff before, during and after the show. We would never have achieved the growth we are experiencing now without it,” Mr Lezcano said. 

In addition to the subsidy, businesses will attend a Trade Show Readiness and Marketing workshop and have access to specialist export and exhibition advice, as well as assistance from other NSW Government business support experts both during and after the event.
