The NSW Government is the major sponsor of Australian Manufacturing WeekExternal Link which returns to the International Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICC) Sydney, Darling Harbour from 17-19 April 2024. Australian Manufacturing Week is the premier trade event for the Australian advanced manufacturing industry and is an expo with many associated activities. It is organised by The Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited (AMTIL), a national body for the manufacturing industry in Australia. Entry is free.
Background
NSW is Australia’s biggest manufacturing state and considered the nation’s engine room for manufacturing. 30% of Australian manufacturing activity is based in NSW. Furthermore, one in five NSW manufacturing businesses are based in the Western Parkland City. The Western Parkland City manufacturing industry demonstrates a high potential for growth. The region boasted $16.4 billion in exports in 2022 and sales to local industry grew by 27% (2016 – 2021).
Over the next decade, Australia’s manufacturing sector will undergo significant transformation. Driven by global technological and geopolitical trends, all components of the manufacturing value chain will evolve to be more automated, connected, repeatable, and sustainable.
Unprecedented investment in NSW and Western Sydney and global connectivity through the new Western Sydney International Airport (WSI), due to open in 2026, and the Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility (AMRF) located on the doorstep of WSI can be leveraged to build out technology, skills and development of a world class innovation ecosystem.
The NSW Government is committed to attracting investment into NSW and also helping the manufacturing sectors to grow by assisting them to embrace advanced technologies and processes while developing a highly skilled workforce.

Industry Capability Network NSWExternal Link (ICN) is an important factor in driving industry growth across the state. NSW Smart Sensing NetworkExternal Link (NSSN) is a not-for-profit Innovation Network funded by the NSW Government through the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer. The NSW Government stand at Australian Manufacturing Week will also feature six innovative products on display from the following NSW manufacturers and manufacturing technology providers who successfully applied to be on the stand.
