NSW Innovation Blueprint

The NSW Innovation Blueprint 2035 (the Blueprint) is our 10-year plan to set out a long-term vision and policy priorities for the state’s innovation ecosystem to solidify NSW’s position as the innovation powerhouse of Australia.

Making NSW the best place to innovate

With the world changing rapidly due to new technologies, the Innovation Blueprint details how the NSW Government will work with partners to make NSW the best place to innovate. This strategy has clear goals and action areas to guide how programs are designed, funding is allocated, and how we interact with stakeholders.

The Innovation Blueprint compliments the NSW Industry Policy which sets out the NSW Government’s long-term vision and plans for the economic future of NSW through three connected missions - Housing, Net Zero & Energy Transition, and Local Manufacturing.

What the Blueprint will do

Innovation is essential for the economic, social, and environmental well-being of NSW. By creating new products, services, and processes, businesses can grow, become more profitable, create jobs, and contribute to our shared prosperity.

With 4 strategic goals and 5 key action areas, we will create more economic and social opportunities for the people of NSW and help tackle the state’s most important challenges.
