Nominations open for NSW export success
The state-based awards are part of the wider Australian Export & Investment Awards, which after a pause in 2020, have returned to the original format for a 59th year to recognise business excellence in the export of goods and services.
Investment NSW CEO Amy Brown said the awards would recognise the perseverance and endurance of NSW exporters in a challenging global market.
“Despite drought, bushfires and COVID-19, in 2019/20 NSW exports generated $96 billion in revenue, accounting for a significant 16 per cent of our Gross State Product,” Ms Brown said.
“Investment NSW is proud to support and empower exporters to thrive through a suite of measures, including the $10,000 Export Assistance Grants and the Going Global Program, which upskills small and medium businesses to succeed in international markets, as well as support through our team of experienced export advisers.
“These awards will celebrate the ongoing contribution of our exporting businesses to our economic recovery and highlight sustainable growth that has been achieved through sheer innovation and commitment.”
In 2020, the awards pivoted to share the stories of resilient NSW exporters including a high-tech aroma recovery manufacturer, a medical device innovator and a drone-detection technology exporter.
Winners of the Premier’s NSW Export Awards will automatically progress as national finalists to the Australian Export & Investment Awards, The Premier’s NSW Export Awards are delivered in partnership with the Export Council of Australia.
“The awards provide exporters the opportunity to receive recognition for their company and a platform for their international business story to be told. The awards are also an acknowledgement of their contribution to NSW’s economic future,” said Chair of the ECA, Dianne Tipping.
Applications are now open and will close on 6 August 2021.
