Investment NSW CEO Amy Brown said the program is designed to help attract and accelerate the growth of cutting-edge companies and startups in NSW.
“This program sends a clear message to the world that NSW has ambitions to become the powerhouse region for cyber security in the Asia-Pacific. The Accelerator will attract the most innovative companies, large and small, in this growing industry across NSW,” Ms Brown said.
“This initiative is about delivering new opportunities for the sector through further training and mentorship, as well as expanding connections to global export opportunities that will help them scale-up.”
Driven by demand to safeguard data, secure privacy and prevent expensive cyber-attacks, the global security industry is on target to reach an estimated value of $270 billion by 2026.
“We are looking for world-class, innovative organisations with a proven track record in helping cyber security businesses grow and scale. The Accelerator will be another pin in the map, a beacon to the cyber security industry globally, that NSW is the place to expand and invest.”
The EOI process is being conducted by the NSW Cyber Hub, within Investment NSW, which offers a range of programs to help cyber security businesses grow and enhance workforce and skills development in the sector.
