Sydney Startup Hub kicks of 2nd cohort of Female Founder Program

Supporting the growth of female founders to create new, future-focused businesses is a priority for the team at the Sydney Startup Hub.

Recognising that there are many barriers to entrepreneurship faced by women, the team just launched the second cohort of an early-stage Female Founder program, delivered by Tech Ready Women. This program provides women with the skills, tools, mentorship, and networks to grow their business.

Last week, the first cohort of 50 women graduated from the program. Over the course of the 8-week program, these exceptional women have learned, adapted, and grown what was an idea into viable businesses.

Just as cohort one wrapped, the 2nd cohort kicked off the program. The July intake is actively supporting those whose employment has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and are experiencing financial hardship. 22% of the founders are regionally based, 16% are women over 50 years of age and 18% are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

The Sydney Startup Hub team will continue to support more women to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions and look forward to providing more programs and initiatives designed to enable their growth.
