Why this market

India will be the world’s 3rd largest economy by 2030, and has a growing appetite for international brands and better-quality products.

India’s food and beverage market is valued at AU$400 billion. Demand is increasing for vegetarian and vegan products, healthy and organic food and ingredients, and wellness products.

India’s beauty and personal care market is projected to grow from AU$15 billion to AU$25 billion by 2026. Makeup and skincare categories contribute to the highest sales volumes.

The interim Australia – India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement will enable 85% of Australian goods exported to India to enter without tariffs. An additional 5% of exported goods will have tariffs eliminated for up to 10 years.
