Health to South Korea

Investment NSW invites expressions of interest (EOI) from NSW biotech businesses and biotech service providers with South Korea business development interest to jointly exhibit with Investment NSW at BioKorea, Seoul, from 7 - 9 May 2025. Eligible businesses can apply for free export support. Applications open on Monday 16th December 2024 and close on Friday 31st January 2025.

About the Event

Bio Korea is an annual international convention that provides a platform for biotech companies to exchange newest trends in life science. It is one of the largest partnering conferences in Asia biotech sector. Since 2006, Bio Korea features expansion opportunities for global biotech businesses to engage and harness drug discovery and development collaboration, consulting and investment attraction. The event is a key platform for engagement, showcase and advancing commercial success in the Korean biotech market.

The event runs over one week around 7 – 9 May 2025. 

Program dates

February 2025 to May 2025.

In-person attendance by at least one company representative, with knowledge of the business's product or service, is required to attend the trade exhibition in Seoul in May.  

Who should Participate

  • Biotech businesses who have a compelling proposition for the Korean market, in the areas of discovery and development of advanced therapeutics and contract manufacturing
  • Specialised biotech professional service providers such as Contract research organisations, Clinical trial sites, and Labs
  • Digital health businesses

Eligibility

The applicant business must: 

  • Have headquarters in NSW 
  • Have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) registered for NSW  
  • Be export-capable and export-ready  
  • Have an employee number between 5 and 199 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees  
  • The product or service must be produced primarily in NSW 
  • The product or service is achieving sales already 
  • Have a website featuring the product or service 
  • Be prepared to adapt the product or service for the new market 
  • Be flexible regarding market-entry method 
  • Have resources to support marketing and development for a new market 
  • Be willing to travel to the selected market and/or to Sydney for events, and must cover own travel expenses 

What is Included

Investment NSW will provide:

  • Predeparture briefing and preparations
  • Promotion of NSW delegation to Korean biotech industry
  • NSW business showcase under Australian national pavilion to promote your offering and engage with interested parties
  • In-market support from Investment NSW in Seoul
  • Ongoing, tailored one-to-one support with a dedicated Investment NSW Export Advisor, following the conclusion of the program.  

Investment NSW will not provide: 

  • Airfare  
  • Accommodation   
  • Travel insurance  
  • Visas  
  • Meals   
  • Ground transport

Applications open on Monday 16th December 2024 and close on Friday 31st January 2025.

An acceptance supporting letter will be sent to the successful applicant with the participation terms and conditions. Further information required for participation will be provided in due course. Successful applicants will be determined by a panel assessing the eligibility and criteria from your EOI.
