Why this market?
There is strong global demand for Australian food and beverage products from the Middle East, including the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. With the region’s food and beverage market valued at USD135.5 billion, it is expected to grow at an annual rate of 4.39% from till 2028.
NSW's trading relationship with the Middle East is strong and improving, due to the reputation of NSW products and the demand for reliable and sustainable suppliers. Due to harsh climatic conditions in the region, it is largely import-dependent, and NSW is a major import source.
Key consumer trends in the GCC region include rising health consciousness, demand for convenience and increased use of online grocery retail. There is also an increase in imported inputs for domestic food and beverage manufacturing.
